Anja Wiesenberg’s practice focuses on commercial and residential sales and acquisitions, development, permanent and construction loan financing, and commercial leasing transactions.

She has represented national and international investors entering the US market to acquire and develop real estate, ranging from mixed-use apartment and office buildings, industrial warehouses and manufacturing facilities, parking garages and retail shopping centers. Ms. Wiesenberg also frequently represents individual clients in the sale or acquisition of 1-2 family properties, ranging from landmarked brownstones, SRO or rent-regulated multiple dwellings to cooperative and condominium units for owner occupancy or investment purposes. These transactions frequently involve IRC1031 Tax Deferred Exchanges and, in cases of non-resident and/or foreign nationals, require special consideration and compliance with State and Federal tax regulations.

Ms. Wiesenberg also represents landlords and tenants that range from European fashion and luxury goods retailers setting up flagship stores in shopping centers and hotels throughout the US to independent business operators leasing restaurant, medical or office spaces in mixed-use condominiums and commercial buildings. Other aspects of her practice include the negotiation of AIA architect and contractor agreements and compliance with construction bonds throughout the build-out process. Throughout her representation of developers, Ms. Wiesenberg has handled condominium conversions for several apartment buildings in Brooklyn and currently serves as counsel for sponsors and boards of various cooperative and condominium buildings in NYC.

Ms. Wiesenberg was born and raised in Cologne, Germany, and is fluent in German and French.
