Lawrence Kalik is an esteemed Real Estate and Trust
Funds lawyer with extensive Bar Admissions and a variety of
professional associations and memberships. He is also recognized
for his Pro Bono activity with the New York Civil Court.
Mr. Kalik attended Cornell University as an undergraduate
student in 1941, where he majored in Economics. Mr. Kalik
completed his first year of law school at Cornell University,
and five years later, at the end of World War II, he completed
his studies at New York University Law graduating Cum Laude. He
remains a member of the New York University Law Review Alumni
Mr. Kalik maintains numerous professional associations and
memberships. Since 1973 he has remained a Trustee of the Jessie
Ridely Foundation. He also functioned as Co-Chairmen for the New
York County Lawyers’ Association Practical Legal Education
Program between 1977 and 1978. Mr. Kalik is a known member of
the Association of the Bar of the City of New York as well as a
Trustee of the Manocherian Foundation and a member of the
American Judges Association. Other associations and memberships
include his role on the Board of Advisors of the First American
Title Insurance Company of New York, his membership to the Board
of Directors of Ridgewood Business Improvement District (BID),
and his membership to the Advisory Board of American
Hypertension Association. He is currently a special master in
the Appellate Division of the New York State Supreme Court,
having been appointed by an order of the Appellate Division.
Mr. Kalik was admitted to the Bar in New York State in 1948.
This was followed by admission to the U.S. Supreme Court in
1961. In the late seventies, Mr. Kalik was admitted to the Bar
of the U.S. District Court in the Eastern District of New York
and the Southern District of New York.
While Mr. Kalik has many professional associations and
memberships as well as bar admissions, he has also received
awards for his legal work. He received the highest rating from
Martindale-Hubbell for his respected legal abilities and
devotion to high standards of legal conduct and ethics. In
addition to receiving awards, Mr. Kalik has participated in Pro
Bono activity for the majority of his career. Since 1955, he has
engaged in public service as a small claims division arbitrator
for the New York Civil Court.
Currently, Mr. Kalik serves as Council to Herzfeld & Rubin.
